I was at home. Watched it on TV. Horrible sad day. I remember telling my 10 year old step daughter this is a definning day. Things are going to be different from now on.  Had no idea how different things would be. We are at war for 15 years with still no end in sight. Sad day.. WE WILL PREVAIL. WE WILL NOT FORGET.

Was staying at Silver Lake for the week and heard the news on KBIS as we drank coffee and prepared our gear for the day.  Fishing plans cancelled and my dad, as was his nature to be prepared, headed off to fill the car gas tank.  As the days passed we fished the high country Ellery-Saddlebag-20 Lakes Basin to an eerie silence as no aircraft flew overhead on the way to SFO.  Never since have I come close to experiencing the sheer quietness of nature as we experienced in the 20 Lakes Basin away from cars and planes flying overhead.  Still gives me a chill to think about it.  Side note, it was nearly a week until I saw a television and the tragic images.
