PAC, and wshawkins are right on with their recommendations. The Troutfitter is unbelievable! Mac's in Biship is next door to Breakfast Heaven Jack's Restaurant so you can kill two birds with one stone. Jack's opens at 6am and Mac's opens at 7am. Welcome to the board, and enjoy your time in a beautiful place!

Big Steve, if my memory serves me right #8 is the one spot that you can get all your stuff in plus it is private as you said. We always seem to get #2 and we love it. Yes it is amazing that late summer before Labor Day Big Meadows can be empty. Your right about Sunday morning it always works for us too. Hope you get that site, and have a great trip!

Carol, that was right on information. This was a surprise situation due to the rapid snow melt. They have done as good a job as possible in protecting the area below. Hopefully there will be no more surprise situations this winter. Hats off to the emergency efforts of the crews that pulled this off. For the record is was Arnold's regime that redirected funds in 2005.
Thank's again Carol,

Hawk, awesome fall color shots this year! As usual June Lake is spectacular! Love the Rush Creek shots, and recognized a couple of my favorite fishing holes for Browns. The town of June Lake is beautiful, a perfect example of what a mountain town should be. Thanks again for your wonderful contributions to this forum!

Great to have you back Hawk, after your huge run of trip posting and kind advise towards members different questions regarding fishing and backcountry trips you had to be gassed. The morning coffee and chime in has not been the same. Please post a picture of Gracie as she has to be a big girl now. I know myself as well as a lot of fellow creeker's have missed your input.
Thank's again!

Love to fish the creek from Upper Pine Grove to the lake, its very peaceful and I have my favorite spots. Ultra Light gear with a mixture of Lures and Bubble Fly setups. Love putting on the Hip Boots wading out at the Pond and going after those little Brookies. Barbless, Catch and Release.

Read an article in the O.C. Register today concerning the snow melt in the Sierras. Seams that the low temperatures at night are holding the snow pack. Great news! There will also be more snow up there from mid-week on, plus a great chance of rain here in So. Cal as we need it.

Ret. 96, thanks for getting the chatter going again!  it was a long layoff! Glad to hear Tahoe is in better shape this year, and from the news reports here in So. Cal this winter the mountain resorts are booming which their economy needs desperately. Yea the storms predicted for January haven't come through for the lower elevations but soft rain soaking into the ground has. I'm sure stronger rains and more snow will come through the rest of winter and early spring. Haven't been able to get the snow and water reports that used to come up through the weather link this winter? Scout what's going on? can you give us an update on the area?
Maybe Gary C. hit the nail on the Head with "Life is in Session", Yea we all are getting older, there is lots of uncertainty with the economy and the world around us, and in our own little worlds, but myself like all of you are dreaming about the coming summer and trips to the place we all love. For myself like all of our internet family this is a place to come and share. lets keep it moving forward.

So I'll just say Thank You for your sharing of your trips into the beautiful back country, your fishing experiences there chasing brown and golden trout, your autumn pictures, your knowledge of history in these parts, and your contributions sharing questions about fishing gear etc. You are a true Mountain Man!
THANK YOU!
