It all looks very good! I love everything about it. I would not add anything as you are trying to go with the bear minimum

Klint. those pics are spectacular. So how do you actually get up there. DO you drive up as far as you can go and then you hike up the rest of the way? or do you drive up the to the best you can and then ski?

JMCclure83. yes the sierras make their own weather. You must always be prepared for any time of weather and be open minded and strong willed. I have many time seen campers pack up all their gear in minutes and high tail it out of Rock creek once they see one drop of rain! Man up and enjoy every minute and climate that rock creek offers!

French camp does have two campsites that have full hook ups to include electric power. One site is at the top of the french campground and the other one is at the bottom of the camp. I really dont think toms will SELL power.

Very good report Big Steve. At point I really envy the good times you spent at Big Meadow. I was able to spend my first camp trip this past summer and oh-boy, it was an amazing stay for us also. We will have to meet up some time since we are so close to you here in corona. Thatnk you for the great report. Im already looking forward to my next stay. I love Big Meadow!

I preffer the Eucalyptus based mosquito spray. I find it to be a better scent that will often mask many underlying odors. Well you can even use it as Cologne!

Little hard rock! I did not know that you also make the out of the way trek to saddlebag lakes. Every time i think that i am the only "nut" in this world, some one always outdoes me! I love saddle bag lake. My family and i like to get there early for breakfast and then take the ferry across the lake and hang out at the 20 lake basin for a few hours and then finish the day with some fishing! That place is awesome and off the beaten path. The drive up the to the back entrance to yosemite is amazing. The hositality of the staff at the lodge there are amazing and warmhearted!

On this site. I don't think I have ever heard of any one staying at "Rock Creek Lake Campground". Can any one do a camp report on this site with pics? That would be awesome!

We've been going the last week of August for several years now and there haven't been any crowds, I think a lot of people either have kids starting school or getting ready to start. Last year Big Meadow only had about 6 campsites occupied while we were there. Yep. i think the kid situation with school really has a big influence. That is why i cant make it out around that time.

Little hard rock! That is a very very good report on road repairs. I dont know why i cant word it the way you do and make better sense with my posts! Your doing a great job. BUT, i dont think the club meet is eons ago! I still stayed a whole week after and appreciated you droping off my lantern cover for me at my camp the next day. I must report that the bear that was at your camp appreared at BIG MEADOW two days later! How awesome is that. It was to dark though to take pics. But I must report that there were no incidents with the bear. He just came through camp at about 0400 and just checked everthing and WANDERED through! I am still cherishing CLUB 2014 ! I am already waiting for the next one! Im already planning on what to make! Getting back to the road repairs. I still hope they repair the road that leads to the trail head. But over all the road wait with the truck escort was not as bad an i thought it would be. i have only been back a week and i soooooooo missssss the creek!
