Thanks Hawk. These are like a new page on the desk calendar. I enjoy every morn!
I hope to be in the thin air the 2nd week of July. Squeets, smoke and all; I'll just make the best of it.

"Iím an oddity in this group as Iím clearly a fisherman, so I get the strange looks which Iím used to."
I hike with 93% fishing in mind; I know the feeling.  That trail is heavily used by runners.

WOW Hawk. Thanks. I think this waterfall is in one of the campgrounds on the creek? If so; been/stayed there and was serenaded all night by it. If not (agreed) is awesome place.

Was at Iris last night was rainy/windy cold... Moving to French tonight; then Tioga tomorrow. Keith I txt you! Tried 1/2 moon yesterday; wimped out b/c of cold. Back at the stables another couple were just going to the pass at 13:00 just as it started to rain. I bet it was miserable.

Drove through there from Reno Sunday. Smoke was so bad couldn't see much across Mono Lake. Not too bad at a stop in Mammoth and was mild in Bishop this morning.

Eastern Sierra Forum / Re: Report from Lake #2 and abandon tent

As a cop my thoughts are there is a dead body somewhere in the wilderness.

I agree. The food are MRE's (not typical bp food) and the tent camo coupled with edible plant book... Some sort of survivalist? Just saying.

BTW, can hardy wait for FISHMAS even though I'm far away. Wish I could watch it on TV!

Wow; the upper Owens.  The host at Brown's Town Milpond posted last year a picture of a bear climbing over a fence... Thought that was unusual so close to the valley floor.

Eastern Sierra Forum / Re: Any fire restrictions in East fork CG?
« on: August 15, 2015, 05:42:27 AM »
James, I highly doubt there are restrictions within the cg's in fire rings. Never any bonfires though. Very windy? Not a good combo as it can related to an incident in the Holiday cg earlier this yr. when someone left a warm/hot campfire upon exit. S/b good to go. Welcome to the board! Enjoy all the cyn has to offer. Trip reports are always awesomely appreciated. Don't forget time for pie. Get there early for best selections! :pie:

I fished Ruby and Gem the week before the 4th....Nothing to write home about, the best was Gem for 6-8" brookies sight casted on drys... I 'fished both lakes hard, wet wading where I could and chucking metal into the deeps of Ruby, nada.  Wish I had better news. Maybe someone from last week's club event will have better/different news.  Tight lines all the same.

GREAT accomplishment for the young man. I just know he could not help learning a lot about himself in the past few days.
On a side note, the uncle is as proud of him as he w/b his if he were his son. I detect quite the bond Keith.... :rotflmao:

That's me most waking hours... :pie: :fishing3: :camping:
I just found out yesterday I get to go to Las Vegas on the 23rd. Get in about 11:30p. Soooooo. A long nap and a 5 hour roady will get me to Bishop' from there; who knows! I'm happy.

Welcome RL. I thank you for the insight and also your grandfather for working something worthwhile to give us an opportunity to look into the past. Any other info is eagerly awaiting for.
This is a great place. Info; history and just good people.  Next time in Bishop I'll look him up. I just passed there a week ago.  On a side note, I missed my exit in France and ended up in Italy (my heritage) Got stuck in traffic and turned as soon as I could. Ended up in Buggio. At the end of the road was a cemetery. Gorgeous headstones.  They people were living to be over 100 a hundred yrs ago...
