Eastern Sierra Forum / Campgrounds

Good morning,

Our group is trying to plan a trip in mid May and our curious if any of the campgrounds will be up and running at that time.  We are looking at Thursday May 14th and leaving on Monday the 18th.  Everything in Mammoth is closed until Memorial or later.  Looks like East fork opens on the 15th of May.  We really like Big Meadow, and never tried Iris, don't want to be as low and French.  Any input would be most appreciated. Praying for rain!!!!

Cheers,

Thanks for your input.  I have been using the Berkley Vanish the last couple of years but always looking for new suggestions if something works better for others.  Heading up to June Loop on Thursday and feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.  We normally like to camp at Big Meadow or Rock Creek Lake campground but don't want to chance the delays on the road with the construction and all.  Anyone have any input on the delays?  We would like to get up the the lake one of the days.  Any fishing reports for the June Loop?  What lures or flies have been hitting?

Cheers,

Anyone know if DFG will stock this week, like hopefully Saturday morning?  Any current fishing reports on the lake?  Any lunkers plucked out this year?  Can't wait to get up there and disconnect from reality for a few days.

Coming up Saturday for a 4 day trip.  Just curios how the creeks are flowing below RCL and what are the hot lures right now?  How are the mosquitos as well?  Any input would be most appreciated.

Assistance please..... Planning a trip in June with about 15 people. We are going to reserve spots at East Fork. We have never camped East Fork and need recommendations for site numbers. Want to be near the creek and some shade if possible. Tent camping as well if that info is needed. We normally camp at the lake or Big Meadow but we need 3 spots and don't want to risk not finding spots. Thanks for any imput.

How are the creeks flowing in the campgrounds at the lake campsites? Heading up June 3RD for 4 days. Hoping to stay up at the lake if we can find a couple of spots. How are the mosquitoes right now? Cant wait to get up there.

Thanks for the info. Will 4 wheel drive get the boat in? Is it a pain to park a trailer up there as well? I'm guessing it counts as a vehicle.

Hello All,

The question is can you put a motor in Rock Creek Lake?  I thought you could only troll but my buddy thinks you can put a 4 stroke in the water.  Please settle this debate for us.

Thanks,

Coming up Sunday - Wednesday. Normally stay at Big Meadow or on the lake sites at Rock Creek. Thanks for the tips on site numbers. Guess we will have to wait and see what's open.  Thanks again.

Hey All,

Thinking about trying East Fork this year.  Any suggestions on campsite #'s?  We would prefer something by the creek.  Need 2 spots for our group.  Thanks for any feedback.
