Summer 2015
« on: April 02, 2015, 10:12:57 AM »
The Eastern Sierra Snow Survey released yesterday says that the Rock Creek Areas has 10% of the April 1 normal amount of snow/water, and overall 1% of normal. The lowest of all the nearby areas that were measured.

As we knew, not off to a good start of the summer.

I sure hate to be a pessimist, but I got a feeling this years fishing is not going to be good at all. Will make the same number of trips but will probably end up doing more shooting than fishing.. If we have another drought year this next season this state is going to be in serious trouble...

With the Governors order to ban all watering of median parkways I wonder what will happen to the median in my city along Euclid ave. Its at least 60-70 foot wide grass median from Upland down into Ontario...It would cost a fortune to re landscape that huge median which is one of the largest grass medians I have ever seen..

The Eucalyptus on Euclid will be OK for a while but the grass median from San Antonio Height southward to Hwy 60 will be brown.  It looks xeriscape will dominate our landscape in SoCal.

and then at the south end,, the piers are there.. but where is the water?

at the snow measurement near Tahoe yesterday.. it came in at 0.. they were standing on grass...

The turbidty at Lake Tahoe is going to increase rapidly.  Last June the water was just under the pier.

"Keep Tahoe Blue" may be changed to "Keep Tahoe".

Actually the median from Foothill Blvd. north to San Antonio heights is all dirt, but S/B is all grass... I have lived here 40 years and I don't ever recall grass in the median north of Foothill..

We spent this past weekend in the Yosemite Valley. Because of the lack of snow the badger Pass ski area is already closed and they opened the road all the way to Glacier Point. Normally the road to GP is closed because of snow this time of year. You can see is these pictures how far into the backcountry you have to go to reach the snow.

My crew got to see the creek stocked with fish at Upper Pine Grove today. Assisted by our very own Commissioner Scout!

sweet. last time up to the creek there were 0 stockers to be found, just lots of little browns. McGee creek also had 0 fish and is only being stocked once a month with only the amount that they would usually stock PER WEEK. So lame. Glad i waste all this money on fishing licences. The people that run this state are idiots.
Still waiting on my RCL Club Patch!

You're welcome. I'd tell you where we put them, but that would take all the fun out of it. Suffice it to say that 400 lbs. of one pounders, some smaller, were put in the campgrounds from French to Pine Grove. Then we had 400 lbs. of bigger (some LOTS bigger) ones that we put in the Lake.
I'd almost forgotten how much fun it is too play the "Fish Santa".
Go out there and get some of these guys.
