There us a fire burning somewhere between Toms Place and Aspen Springs. Start praying.

just spoke to toms place...  they believe it is a lightening strike fire... and its on reds mountan...  she said it didnt look like its growing very fast...  but its a long ways away, so she is not sure,,,

cant see it this morning from toms place... too much smoke from all of the fires....   pack station cant see it cause its out of their view as well... but they are staying put


us forest crew is on way to hike to it,,,,helo should be up once its light out as well...


so hopefully,,, all will be ok:)

Well, I didn't call Tom's Place (surprised anyone in there even knew where Red Mt. is), didn't call the Pack Station...I went and found the firefighters at Crowley Store getting pizza. They told me that the lightning strike is up the Canyon a ways, kinda opposite Aspen Camp, very small, surrounded by rocks, not really a "fire". They've climbed up to it to look it over, now they're just "keeping an eye on it". They told me it's nothing to worry about.
