Last photo on Lee Vining Canyon and Creek.  Next up is Little Walker Lake in the June Lake Loop.

Screen Saver picture!  Thanks for the tour of Lee Vining Canyon.
Let me wake laughing from a nap in the afternoon under the aspens in the fall.

WOW Hawk. Thanks. I think this waterfall is in one of the campgrounds on the creek? If so; been/stayed there and was serenaded all night by it. If not (agreed) is awesome place.

Saudust, Lee Vining Canyon is a good fishing destination as they stock it regularly.  Also has wild trout population if you know where to find them! :fishing3:

Your right Tex.  I think the waterfall was near Big Bend campground if I remember it right.

Walker Lake

Sometimes referred to as "Little Walker Lake”, the trail to the lake starts on top of Sawmill Ridge.  Walker Lake was named for William J. Walker, who settled on the land adjoining the lake in 1880.  You follow a primitive pathway, where Paiute Indians once left footprints.  The trail moves downhill through mixed conifers and mahogany trees and delivered you to 38-acre gem of a lake, nestled along the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada.  Supporting a healthy and diverse wild trout fishery adjacent to the Ansel Adams Wilderness, this lightly-visited lake remains one of my favorites.

Fishing is pretty good too at Walker Lake.  Last of the Walker Lake Photos.  Next up is very scenic Parker Lake......

Parker Lake

This is my favorite hike out from of the “June Lake Loop”.  Parker Lake is a popular hiking destination in this region, especially during the fall season!  It is a relatively short easy hike that arrives at a pristine alpine lake in the back-country surrounded by towering peaks.

It’s a 3.6 mile roundtrip hike to Parker Lake with a 600 ft. elevation gain with Parker Lake siting at 8,300 ft. elevation with Parker Peak towering above at 12,850 feet.  A well maintain trail starts out in a desert like sandy sagebrush setting that follows Parker Creek as it meanders up through a mix of Jeffrey pines and Aspen trees to Parker Lake.  Parker Lake provides nothing short of gorgeous scenery and well worth the effort to hike there.

Most hikers come for the fall colors, to enjoy the views, the surrounding forest, and the view of the lake.  I enjoy all of the above and bring my fishing rod with me, as it has some large trout that occupy its waters.  I always had the best luck fishing using natural looking flies that I use in most back-country lakes that I fish.  Bring a picnic lunch with you to maximum your time here at this gorgeous lake.
