I always kind of wonder why someone would go out alone anyway. Sadly anything can happen and sometimes it does and not for the good. Best to the family.

So sorry for the loss and condolences to his family.
Let me wake laughing from a nap in the afternoon under the aspens in the fall.

What a beautiful told story!  I think there’s great comfort in knowing he died doing something he loved.  Barrett Lakes, at 11,500’ elevation, lie within the Palisade Basin.  Good Rainbow fishing at the two larger Barrett lakes.  The bad news is the Barrett Lakes are scheduled for gill netting to restore the entire basin to the frogs.  I’m hopping “Pops” never knew that his favorite backcountry fishing lakes were being eliminated.  Rest in Peace.
