Still have not seen another person(s) on the trail.  Funny what just a couple of inches will scare folks away.  Photo below shows where my dog found a snow patch and just had a blast rolling around and sliding down towards the lake. :dogrun:

Springtime came early this year in the Eastern Sierra (compared to last year).  Beautiful time to visit and take a hike!  I'm sure some of you know where I'm headed from the photo.

Don't know where you are headed however, as always, it is a beautiful photo and looks to be very enticing to keep heading up to see what lies ahead............

Thanks for sharing!

Don't recognize it but looks like you're getting close to the ridge.

Minaret Lake with the Minaret Mountains.  The Minarets are a series of jagged peaks located in the Ritter Range in the heart of The Ansel Adams Wilderness. They are a popular destination for hikers, backpackers and climbers.  Trailhead is at “Devils Postpile National Monument” near Mammoth Lakes.  Many choices for hikers.  For a nice short hike, Minaret Falls is nice choice.

Been to Shadow lake many times and as bj says it is quite a sight coming up to the trail to see these falls just before arriving at the lake.  Pretty good fishing at Shadow lake too!   :fishing3:

Yes, this is where this photo was taken.  Iris Meadows Campground has these growing in the little meadow at the campground.  Wild Iris flowers is what their called (I’ve been told).  Not hard to figure out how that campground got its name!

In June of this year, hiked to this lake and C&R for some Brown Trout.  They where running from 14” to 22” on this particular day. :fishing3:
