Eastern Sierra Report.....
« on: September 15, 2018, 02:22:03 PM »
Just found this board, and figured it would be perfect since i just got back from the bishop area.  I have never done any backcountry fishing up there until this trip and it was epic. We fished Long lake from the bishop pass trail head area the first day and then went up to the mosquito flat trail head and hit chicken foot, the other long lake, and box lake.  We also fished the upper owens rivers for a few hours.  Ill Post some pics but it was epic, caught no less than 40 fish a day, most in the 10-13" category.  I really want to catch a big alpine brown.  Any suggestions on a lake?  I was reading about rock creek  Going up in a few weeks again and im going to try and squeeze in 2 trips before winter sets in.

Welcome LMT44 to the Rock Creek’s Message Board!  I have to agree that back-country fishing can be epic, especially in Bishop Creek Canyon.  You may want to glance at my trip report I shared for that area for more fishing options, especially in the back-country.  It’s a fishing paradise!

As for catching a big alpine brown, there are several trip reports here for brown trout fishing.  So, check out the reports and pick your spot for fall fishing for browns.  Hope to see your photos soon and good luck on your next adventure.
