Mammoth lakes area fishing report
« on: October 06, 2018, 09:45:24 PM »
Just returned from 7 days of fishing in the Mammoth lake area and here is my report, trolling with lead line and every lure I own for 5 hours each lake ( Convict & June ) and only 1 Rainbow. Silver lake=0, Rush Creek=0, Lake Mary=0, lake George=few small Rainbows, Saddlebag Lake=0 ( low water level ) Lundy Lake=0. Now for the good news, Rock creek=Rainbows and Brooke’s, Lee Vining Creek= too many to count, TJ Lake=Rainbows, McCloud Lake=Browns, In let to Lundy=Browns and Rainbows. I used night crawlers only and released all that was caught. So as you can see streams and back country lakes produced the most fish. Hope this info can help you plan your next trip, Ray.

Thanks for the fish report. I wish I was going to get up that way soon.

Thanks for the fish report Ray as I'm heading up in a few days for my last trip of the year.  I had similar results over Labor Day weekend,  with few fish caught at drive to Lakes and killing it in the backcountry.

Browns in McCloud?  Wow! That's been C&R Cutts as far back as I can remember. There were Cutts last October but with Browns in there they won't last long.

Where did you fish at Rock Creek?  I did only Brookies and Browns when there in July.

At Rock Creek I was fishing the outlet down to about a half mile.
