Salim ,

I was using the emerald with 4 pound flourocarbon leader.

I used a small weight to get the line down deeper during the day it worked amazingly well.

Joe
So how did this 3wt rod perform?
Casting in the wind?

With the fish you caught, it would have been a great deal of fun / work to land a fish over 9" & over 1lbs.

It worked like a charm! Yea it made even the small brooke I caught feel like a BEAST! I love it, I'm use to it with my Kencor rods, very flexible and I've learned how to fight big fish on sensitive rods. With a float tube casting in the wind really isnt a problem.. You just turn your back to the wind so you end up using the wind in your favor to cast, it worked perfectly.

You can also use sink tip leaders.  Check out Rio Versileader Sink Tip.
Let me wake laughing from a nap in the afternoon under the aspens in the fall.

Great report! I have known McGee Creek's "Katy" since she was a pup.  She is a Great Pyreness and a wonderful watch dog!

Great post. I have been float tube fishing for a few years in Lake Havasu but still have not ventured out at RCL. It's the only way to fish Havasu in the summer due to the high temps. The only problem is you can't take enough beer with you on the tube. I think I will have to get one of those floating ice chests.

McGee.... Awesome shots of McGee Creek,  It seems that the baldys have returned with the onslaught of photos of them through out the board.
