Mars landing, what an accomplisment!

I stayed up last night till 10:30 to watch the landing and was able to see the first picture

I was watching too! And wasn't that picture from the satellite showing Curiosity and the parachute going down to the surface something! I don't remember seeing the martian...must of missed that.

I had the experience of viewing "Curiosity" while it was being built at JPL in Pasadena during a tour I took of the facility about a year and a half ago. We were able to see it from a viewing station (behind glass) looking into the clean room where it was being built. Also got to tour the mission control center, again from above behind glass. Yeah it was pretty cool. Sort of on the bounds of the lunar landing. A job well done by a huge team!
