McGee creek - Cutthroats
« on: September 06, 2012, 02:08:22 PM »
So Terry and I had a great time during the spring spawning season for the rainbows.

We would like to plan a trip up there for the cutties.

Does anyone know when the cutties make their run to spawn on McGee creek?

Could be wrong but I beleave Cutts usually spawn in spring/early summer ab-sn.

I thought they were spring spawners also. I think it's Brookies and Browns that spawn in the fall.

I've fished the Crooked Creek arm of Crowley Lake in October and caught nice browns...been a long time though.  I was tossing a grasshopper fly...it was fun.

targeting spawners?? Can't say I never have. Last fall I just took pictures and left the love birds alone. I have no real problems fishing spawning fish as long as all are released. I'm sure that's the case here. good fishin!

That section of the creek is catch and release barbless hooks.
