I read this article the other day, what a bunch of kooks!  Even if they were caught, the punishment could never compensate for the historical desecration.  What's next, burn down Bodie?

Thatís just sad!  They planned this thief as they brought ladders, electric generators and power saws for what purpose?  To make a few dollars perhaps and destroy petroglyphs that was up to 3,500 years old!

Letís hope they catch them low-life.

Yeah, some friends told me about it.  They would of needed an extended period of time to pull this off so it must of been done at night.  Too bad no one caught them in the act.
The creek is waiting...

There is an article in the L.A. Times.  They have been found through an anonymous letter.  Not too much details though.

Speechless on this one.

Fines and punishment are a slap on the wrist.  Probably plea out to littering.  I went through the roof when I heard this in Nov. I'm glad they were recovered at least.  You don't have to be Paiute to hold these artifacts in great reverence.  Tex has the right idea- git a rope.

Glad they found the Petrogryphs.  Hope they decide to display them at the Owens Valley Paiute-Shoshone Museum so all can view them.

Glad they recovered them, but those fools should have been "knuckled up" a little......ok, a lot!

How about a few nights of local Paiute hospitality.
