My only chance in recent memory, the WW was blown out. I know a fellow that's lived near it most of his life, figures I get good info and the fishing is not to be..... Thanks for keeping spring alive, WS. It's the opposite of killin' time for me.....

Yeah, even heavy local thundershowers can wash out the fishing at West Walker River. :fishing3:

West Walker River, where it runs through Pickle Meadows across from the Marine base. Lots of pools to fish from and with classic freestone stream with easy wading. You find Brooks, Rainbows and Browns in Pickle Meadows.

About 2 miles up from Leavitt Campground, you come to this fork in the trail. Decisions, decisions!

Kind of a bland photo, except my wife's smile . This is my wife's favorite photo. 5 years ago she had breast cancer. We decided she'd beat it and as a reward we'd go over Kearsarge. This was accomplished 3o days after the last radiation treatment and she was declared cancer free. To us, the Sierras are a place we come to recharge our batteries, re-instill the best things in life. I often think about trail crossings and forks in the path. I don't find it odd at all that many of our major life decisions are made on Sierra trails.

She’s a keeper Charlie! She beats cancer then hikes up the 4 + miles and 2,500 + elevation gain to Kearsarge Pass! That’s quite an accomplishment.

Mostly brook trout with an occasional golden trout thrive in the pools of this unnamed creek in the Hoover Wilderness

20 more minutes of hiking and you're in Golden trout heaven. That area just above Greenstone Lake, below the Conness water fall is one of my favorite little meadows. http://www.youtube.com/v/kqsgYKQE6Qg]

Your right about "20 minutes from golden trout heaven". A beautiful spot in the sierra. Your video really captured the beauty of the little meadows as you call it.

I didn't want your video to end, Sierraslam. Thanks. I hope after I get my knee replacement I can get back to hiking and get up into the back country again.

Thank you all for keeping the dream alive.

Sorry to hear about your bad knee(s) saudust. I brother had knee replacement done about 2 years ago and it took awhile but he's back now and doing some serous hiking.

Nice videos of the falls and the first lake. The turquoise color of the first lake came out great!
