Sierra Girl,
Looks familiar, is that picture near Garnet Lake with Banner Peak in the backround?

Wow, your good!  I don't know the name of that peak but was heading to Garnet Lake for a little fishing trip.

Sierra Girl,
Not that good, it's just that when we were camped near 10000 Island Lake I fell in love with Banner Peak. Here it is from the opposite side your picture was taken from.

Lake Helen in the Hoover Wilderness
Northwest corner of Lake Helen last Labor day. Snow field dropped directly into the lake:

North Peak, Mt Conness, respective glaciers & Steelhead lake:

Note: our Boston is good for 4-5 miles. He was happy to take the ferry back to the car.

Banner/Ritter from Summit lake:

Sky Blue lake (Miter Basin), with Mt McAdie to the right and Discovery pinnacle background center. The slight saddle to the right of Discovery is the so-called "shortcut" to Whitney. I haven't done it, but I've read accounts of people who wish they hadn't - LOL.

SKY BLUE LAKE! I caught the biggest Golden Trout of my life from that exact spot, a 17 inch beauty!  Love that picture!

Good to see you back, Hobbes, along with some smooth pics.

This thread is one of those that just keeps giving.  Thanks everyone.

Some nice pictures!  Gary, I remember that view from Kearsarge Pass.  Wish you had a wide angle shot as there are more lakes nearby, but still a nice picture!  Hobbes, see you been a little bit everywhere!  Have to agree with sierraslam, the golden fishing in Miter Basin is the best.

Chickenfoot Lake in December!

That's an incredible picture!  Can I use it on the slideshow at the front of the site?  I haven't changed that for like a year...time to add to it...

Now that's the image I remember at the pass.  I remember that being a tough climb to the pass.  Thanks Gary.

A few of Gem Lake up past Agnew and those horrible tracks.  These were taken a few years back when they were working on the dam, so the lake is low.

The morning hike in...

snow is gone at the end of the day

back of the dam

this is the isthmus.  Gives you an idea of the rock structure you won't see underneath the normal water level.

and this last one is my favorite fishing hole.  My place to nap.
