Amazing thread all, thank you.
Life without music, laughter, and an Eastern Slope BBQ would be a mistake.

I agree, Thanks to all for their contributions and to wshawkins for once again switching gears and getting things moving. Keep the contributions coming as its coffee in the morning and a great way to provide the momentum to make it until everyones time comes to enjoy their own special time in the Eastern Sierras.

Have you noticed that so many of these pictures could easily be favorite screen savers?  I need a few more monitors... ;D

Great contributions everyone!

Cool picture of north peak.  Saw some rock climbers up there last time in the area.

One of your best photos Sierra Girl!  You really caught the low light condition and colors well!

Spire, as in Split and Spire Lakes? I thought Spire went fishless? Did you take that from Bear Creek Spire?

Where is Spire Lake?  Are you still in the Eastern Sierra?

Spire Lake is located about 1 1/2 miles due south from the Gem Lakes turnoff.  The picture was taken at Peppermint Pass, which is between Bear Creek Spire and Pyramid Peak at about 12,300 feet.

As of 2009, Spire Lake was all golden on dry fly's and Split and lower Split had golden/brookie hybrids.  Finch Lake went fishless but Bear Lake still holds Bows.  If anybody knows any different, I'd like to hear from you.  Spire Lake is a long hike and hate to make it if it's fishless now.

I was skunked!  wshawkins took me up there last year on a side trip and spent 2-3 using a Repala that looked like Chris W. lure but no luck.  He did fine of course, catching several and one brown in the 20" range using a tiny fly.

Not going to catch a fish on every cast at this lake.  But if your patient and use what you know best (fly's for me), they will come!

I was thinking of Dade Lake Hawk. I went over the pass from Dade down to Spire and camped at Split. Glad those lakes still hold fish.
