More on the Hilton Trail Hike.  It was a long 5 mile hike but really helped to have these fall colors to keep my mind off the hike.

More Fall Color on Bloody Canyon.  I actually came up this way for the mines and fishing the Sardine Lakes, the fall color was a surprise!  Everybody is welcome to share your fall colors pictures here!

Bloody Canyon with views of Walker Lake and a little bit of Mono Lake.  Fall color started about 3 miles up or so from the Walker lake Trailhead.  That's a zoom shot.

This was the last color I saw hiking up Bloody Canyon.  Just above this hill is Lower Sardine Lake.  This at about 9800/9900 ft elevation.

The area north of Conway Summit was good Sunday and will likely get better the next few days.

That's great to hear bj.  I'll be up that way next week.  Did you see any color around Sonora Pass?  Heading to Leavitt Meadows for some Cutt fishing and fall colors!  :fishing3:

The wind was blowing hard that day and the way back to my truck the leaves were already coming down.

A few spots on the hills north of Bridgeport. For the Cutts are you going east or west of  Pickel Meadows or both?

West of Pickel Meadows.  There are 3-4 lakes within a day’s hike of there that always fished well for me in the fall.  :hiking2:

Great pics of Bloody Canyon.  The trees at the back of Walker Lake are starting their yellow parade and a few are butterscotch and persimmon orange.  The Loop is changing daily and Grant Lake along with the Parker Bench has been putting on a show.  Still, there are plenty of lower elevation aspens with green leaves, so Bill, you should have some good color when you get up here unless the wind and cold takes them to the ground.

How was the fishing at Lower Sardine, wshawkins?
Let me wake laughing from a nap in the afternoon under the aspens in the fall.

Lower Sardine was really really good!  I'll put up a trip report on it soon and you can see for yourself. ;D

From Scout, a nice picture of Rock Creek Lake showing fall colors AND some snow! Nice blaze of orange in among the pines.
