Kamikaze trip with ABSN and McGee Dude
« on: October 05, 2013, 08:34:23 PM »
Took one of our famous day trips a week ago up to the Rock Creek area.  We met up at Salim's place at 6 am and returned to his place about midnight.  It was a very tough day fishing wise with roaring winds almost everywhere we went,  but the colors were great,  so was the pie,  and the pizza at the pizza factory in Lone Pine on the way home.  As always,  it was a great day with great friends!

Thatís covering some distance in one big full day!  Bad luck on the wind, but you made the most out of it.  Rock Creek is down this year but still fishable.  Thanks for sharing.

It was a lot of fun.

RC was cold.  After eating pie and saving a piece for AB, we tried fishing around Palisades.
The temperature was about mid 50's not a great temp for trout, not to mention the wind.

MGD caught fish on the upper owens.

TT and MGD has their first trip to Hot Creek.  the weeds were horrible and the winds made casting a challenge.
the Lower owens was flowing at 265 CFS a tad too fast for good fishing but the weather was perfect for that section.

So there is a story behind the Burro's picture.
We showed MGD where the burro's where (just south of Taboose creek), when we got there we saw a small heard of 4.
I rolled down the window and called them over.  So they came, but we did not have any treats for them.
Maybe next time.

until the next mad dash.......

Love the Burros ab-sn!  I run into them around Aberdeen or thereabouts, that old town that runs on the old 395 through town.  The store and restaurant in town has an old fireplace and old historic photos hanging on the walls.  Pretty cool.

LOL...I was going to say I recognize one of those photos.  Don't know where the burnt up log came from in the creek, we noticed it a few weeks ago.  Nice trip report...you guys are crazy.  Maybe we will be around next time you make a day run.
The creek is waiting...

That was one long day, guys, but you make it sound like it was fun almost every minute.  Thanks for the pics, Terry.  You guys are da MAN-iacs.
