Saw that Terry, music to our ears for sure.

I hope storms start stacking up out there.

Ditto that.  It would be grand to see snow on the web cams for a change.  It appears the ridge of high pressure is pushed out to sea.  Let's hope it stays there for a couple of months.
Let me wake laughing from a nap in the afternoon under the aspens in the fall.

Was amused watching Dallas Raines on the news tonight talking about the big change in the weather, He said we might get 1/100 inch of rain..Didn't know you could measure that minute amount of rain...

We were predicted to receive .25/in yesterday, but we actually got .4 so that's something.  In math yesterday I got the kids to figure out how many .25/in storms we'd need in order to make up the deficit in Humboldt.  The answer?  68

And Humboldt isn't even one of the counties listed for a state of emergency.

We have a LONG way to go, and with the forecasted precipitation for the next 2-3 months, it won't be made up...not close.  Check this out...

Sheeesh, what's worse than dry?

So here's a prediction.....Statewide mandatory water conservation.....We all cut back on our useage......DWP/MWD doesn't make enough money to function......so they're justified in raising our rates.

And the beat goes on...

True Paul,  last thing MWD and DWP want is lots of rain and snow,  because then they won't be able to whine about water shortages and raising our rates...

I see where the gauge at Leavitt Lake picked up 20" from the last storms. Current depth 47", a little better. The only problem is that whole area drains into the Walker River and then on to the Nevada desert.

Looks like they got a lot more farther north than we did...I kinda delayed this post until I'd gone up the Canyon, just got back. The gate is closed at the Sno Park again, but there was only a minimal amount of new snow there, maybe ankle deep. The road to that point is plowed and dry...there's probably enough for cross country skiing above the Sno Park.
I got less than an inch in Crowley, still didn't have to shovel. The Glass Mts. got a dusting, but everything is disappearing already. I haven't accessed the snow pillow site for Rock Creek Lake, so no idea how much they got up higher.
It's a start, albeit a late one.

According to the Rock Creek snow pillow, looks like only an inch or so. :(

Mammoth is at 65 inches for the year. The lowest total I can find is 95 inches in 1976/77. Still a long way to go to get to the lowest year on record.

Local LA news is making such a big deal of the fact that we might get 1/4 inch of rain.....We need 20 inches not a quarter...

Looked at the Bishop cam today hoping to see more white. Foolish, I know. But saw a stunning sunset.

Current snow survey results have been released. Rock Creek is at 21% of April 1 normal. That's better than the Mammoth Lakes area, which is at 16%. But....
