Upper Owens River
« on: April 17, 2014, 09:27:28 AM »
I see on the Sierra Drifters site that the DWP increased the flow rates to 4 times the normal, up to 200 CFS... I wonder what effect that will have on the spring spawn eggs that have been laid...Will that huge increase possibly wash away the new eggs.....Rates that high make it somewhat difficult to fish and I'm sure the water will be dirty..... Thanks DWP considering the opener is next week...

Yes, I camped out at PVR last week and fished the LO.  Flows went from 100 o 140, this week up to 170.  Fishing was pretty good, saw some big browns but could not entice any action.  Very hot and I got absolutely ravaged by mosquitos.
