That was one ugly fish, I'll make a wild guess that he was well over 10 years old. Personally I would have released him as I sure wouldn't want to carry him for the long walk back to my truck.  That fish will probably set the record for the biggest fish caught this season...

That was a huge brown trout!  I would have taken a picture and let him go myself.  Not too tasty at that age.  I beleave it's a record catch?

This picture was from Reagan's Sporting Goods Facebook page.  The trout went 19# 12oz and was caught on a RAGO swimbait.

State Record is 26 1/2 lbs, caught in Upper twin on 2007, Sierra Girl.  Life span is usually considered to be about 13 years tops.  Upper Twin has an abundance of rainbow trout, so the browns thrive there and can get really huge gorging themselves on the plentiful food chain.

More than likely the largest for this season...until I get to my favorite lake    :fishing3:

...just because I got curious...wiki.ask.com/Brown_trout gives you more insight into these fish.  How about correcting myself here and saying this article claims they can live to 20 years.  A 41.45 brown was caught in Manistee river system, which is in Michigan, back in 2009.

Better change the 2lb test.

Sawdust stand your ground. Anyone can put bulls--- on wiki but that does not make it factual.

The fish was actually caught on April 30th 1987 by Danny Stearman..

My bad, R96, I looked at and used the posting date.  You are 100% correct.   :thanks:
