OR-7 Spotted and Photographed
« on: May 11, 2012, 06:44:00 AM »
Found this in Yahoo news. He was photographed in color.
This May 8, 2012 photo provided by the California Department of Fish and Game shows OR-7, the Oregon wolf that has trekked across two states looking for a mate, on a sagebrush hillside in Modoc County, Calif. A California Department of Fish and Game biologist spotted the wolf and took this photo while out visiting ranchers in the area

The E.S. is where I come to get back to sanity and to the real me.

It'd be great to have them inhabit the area, but this poor lonely guy might be out of luck in finding a mate, in California.
He might end up mated to a dog.

If you like wolves. One of my favorite movies is an old Disney movie called "Never Cry Wolf". It's right up there with Jeremiah Johnson in my favorites. It's a great story with beautiful scenery. If you haven't seen it, you need to. It is worth buying because you will watch it many times.

Mate or no mate OR-7 is better off in CA than in MT, WY or ID.
they are just doing a number on them this year with the wolf hunt which includes trapping.

We were in Yellowstone a week ago today and the three northern packs were reduced by about 30% from the WY and MT wolf hunts.

Your probably right.  OR-7 has been keeping his distance from livestock and highways so he has been doing good in California...despite being lonely.  It is so sad that they are hunting wolves again.
The creek is waiting...
