Bishop Lake is the last lake you pass on your right climbing up Bishop Pass heading south.  Bishop Pass Lake is just beyond the Bishop Pass sign, and into the Dusy Basin.

Many of the lakes in Dusy Basin have thriving wild trout fisheries.  The first lake you come across on the south side of Bishop Pass is just off the main trail.  This sapphire color lake teems with beautiful rainbow-golden hybrids.  They’re not easy to catch, but a dedicated angler shouldn’t have any problems finding willing fish to catch in this lake.

Golden hybrids in Dusy Basin range from 6-11″ with a top end of maybe 14″.  There are plenty of large flat boulders surrounding the lake shoreline which allows for great casting room and with Dusy Basin above the tree line, there is little to get in the way of a long cast.
