This view of Heart Lake is only about 100 yards beyond the previous photo.  In the summer of 2001, bridges along the trail in this area were improved by trail crews.  Ruby Creek is the creek in this shot.  It empties out of Ruby Lake, accessible from the Mono Pass trail, and cascades into Heart Lake, which is at an elevation of 10,410 feet.  Brookies and browns are in this lake as well.
