In this photo by Abe Kleinfeld, notice how the shoreline has changed from the north end of Long Lake to the south, from rocky and precipitous to a bit more lush and green.  In the spring and early summer, this portion of Long Lake explodes with wildflowers.  A trail to access the Treasure Lakes is located on the south side of Long Lake, although it's not well-marked.  The Treasures are also accessible from the Gem Lakes.
